The Contractor Compass was founded by Amanda Adair, who started in the field as a pipe fitter helper before moving into planning in 2013. From there, she moved quickly through project coordinator and project manager roles into Senior Project Manager by 2015 — spending 13 years total inside large industrial projects, seeing firsthand where operations break down as a contractor scales.
After years in oil field and chemical work, Amanda shifted into renewables to be part of a positive change — bringing the same operational discipline to solar and electrical contractors who are scaling past what their current systems can support.
